Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPA) at multiple grade levels. The role includes enforcing immigration and customs laws, inspecting documents, and patrolling borders with a variety of assets.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four‑year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree OR combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using various assets.
• Interpreting and following tracks, marks and other evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using government assets for the USBP Mission.
