Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPA) across multiple grades. The role involves safeguarding borders, enforcing immigration and customs laws, and serving within the Federal Law Enforcement Officer profession.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course leading to a bachelor’s degree.
• General or specialized work experience in law enforcement or public safety may qualify.
• Citizenship: U.S. citizen; ability to meet residency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violations; inspect documents and possessions for citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at/beyond borders using surveillance.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform checks (farm, building, traffic, city) and patrol duties.
• Patrol borders and waterways using government assets to fulfill CBP mission.
