Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or equivalent education may qualify at GL-5 level.
• Bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university may qualify.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify at multiple grade levels.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and various assets.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband; conducting checks and patrols; coordinating with agencies to protect the border.
