Job summary

Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents across multiple duty locations in the United States. Positions cover entry to mid-level career paths with education or relevant public safety experience qualifying applicants. Gaps in location or incentive details are clarified at offer.

Base pay is complemented by federal benefits and a robust retirement plan. In addition to base compensation, CBP offers recruitment and retention incentives up to $20,000 initially and up to $30,000

Qualifications

• Experience or education allowing admission to the GL-5 level as described.
• Combination of general work experience and education may apply.
• Ability to learn regulations and gather information through questioning and observation.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violations and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend unlawful entrants near borders using surveillance.
• Interpret tracks and evidence to determine violations.
• Perform various patrol checks and security duties as assigned.
• Patrol borders and waterways using diverse assets to accomplish the mission.
