Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) at multiple grades with strong base pay, generous benefits, and significant recruitment incentives.

The BPA role offers entry and mid-level career paths, extensive training at the Border Patrol Academy, and long-term job stability across numerous duty locations in the United States. Base salary varies by grade (GL-5 to GS-11), with additional incentives up to $50,000 and a comprehensive benefits package including

Qualifications

• GL-5 requires one year of general work experience or a bachelor's degree.
• GL-7/GL-9/GS-11 eligibility can be based on experience and/or education substitution.
• Note: Citizenship, residency and training requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry for enforcement actions.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol borders and waterways using various assets to fulfill CBP mission.
