Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join a large federal law enforcement workforce.

Entry to mid-level, full-time positions qualify under GL-5 to GS-12 pathways with strong federal benefits and job stability. Typical duties include patrolling borders, inspecting documents, questioning individuals, and arresting unlawful entrants or smugglers while using diverse assets.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or equivalent.
• A bachelor’s degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study.
• A combination of general experience and education submitting with the application.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Pursue and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Patrol borders and coastal areas using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets.
