U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking full-time Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) at entry and mid-level grades. You will join a large federal law enforcement organization with strong benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Typical duties include questioning individuals about immigration status, patrolling borders and waterways, using surveillance, and applying decision-making skills across graded levels from GL-5 to GS-12. Incentives support recruitment and retention nationwide.

Competenze

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, sound decision-making, and composure under stress; ability to learn regulations, methods, and techniques; ability to gather concise information from questioning, observation, and records.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; OR
• A combination of general work experience AND college education submitted with your application.

Mansioni

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and various assets.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks; patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways with government assets.
• Make arrests and exercise sound judgment in use of firearms; analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions.
