Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking Border Patrol Agents to join a large federal law enforcement workforce. Entry and mid-level BPA roles are available with full-time status, competitive base pay, and strong federal benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience: One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, decision making, and maintaining composure in stressful situations; ability to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through training and on-the-job instruction; ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance from covert positions including infrared scopes at night.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband and pursuing leads to resolve cases.
• Patrolling borders and waterways with various assets (vehicles, horses, vessels, ATVs, etc.) to fulfill CBP mission.
