Qualifications

• General work experience or education may qualify for entry level positions.
• Bachelor's degree or full four-year course of study may qualify for GL-5 or higher.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify for GL-5/GL-7/GS-11 levels.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision gear.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband; performing checks and patrols.
• Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using various assets.
• Arranging for deployment to priority locations with incentive programs.
