Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is recruiting Border Patrol Agents (BPA) to join a large federal law enforcement workforce. The BPA role offers career stability, strong base pay, comprehensive federal benefits, and potential recruitment incentives.

Positions are full-time at multiple grade levels (GL-5/7/9 or GS-11) with a clear path to promotion. Incentives may total up to $50,000, and duty locations include numerous U.S. sites, including Lordsburg, NM, with nationwide opportunities.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to learn regulations, methods, and techniques.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree.
• Combination of general work experience AND college education will be evaluated from your resume.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of violations and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-ops tools.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform checks (farm, building, traffic, city, transportation) during patrols.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
