U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join a large, federal law enforcement workforce. This role emphasizes protecting the United States from illicit entry while facilitating lawful travel and trade.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to make sound decisions under stress; or successful education substitution.
• A bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• A combination of work experience and education submitted with the application.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration or customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or admissibility.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented individuals and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-operations tools.
• Interpret tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband to support enforcement actions.
• Perform patrols and checks of farms, buildings, traffic, and transportation to safeguard border integrity.
