Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violations and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling borders and waterways using various government assets to fulfill the USBP Mission.
