Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating the ability to make sound decisions and stay composed in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• Combination of general experience and education may qualify for the role.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and supports.
• Interpreting tracks, marks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks and city patrols.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
