Job summary

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to lead, make decisions, and stay composed in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor’s degree.
• Combination of general work experience and education may qualify for the role.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using various government assets.
