Base pay varies by grade ($51,632–$124,717) with federal benefits and possible incentives. Selection includes relocation to prioritized locations within the United States and potential additional incentives.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or education leading to a bachelor's degree.
• Bachelor's degree or a full four-year course of study from an accredited college.
• Combination of experience and education may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling borders and waterways using various assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
