U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) at multiple grades.

The BPA role focuses on protecting the United States by enforcing immigration and customs laws, with extensive training at the Border Patrol Academy and opportunities for substantial recruitment incentives. BPAs serve at various duty locations, with eligibility for health, dental, and other federal benefits, along with a Thrift Savings Plan.

Formación

• One year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and learn regulations and procedures.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree.
• A combination of general work experience and college education may qualify.

Responsabilidades

• Detect individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspect documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders using surveillance and other assets.
• Interpret and follow tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Perform farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets.
