Job summary

Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to join a large federal law enforcement workforce. BPAs perform duties at the border and inland locations, inspecting documents, questioning potential violators, and patrolling with a variety of assets.

The role offers strong federal benefits and job stability. Selections into GL-5 to GS-11 levels provide base pay scales with incentive opportunities and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or education substituting for experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited school.
• Combination of experience and education acceptable for GL-9/GS-11 levels.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violations; inspecting documents and possessions.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Patrolling borders and coastal waterways using various government assets.
