Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violations; inspect documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night operations.
• Interpreting tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband; perform checks across various locations.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using diverse assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
