Job summary

University of the Virgin Islands is seeking a Bookstore Student Assistant for St. Thomas for Fall 2026 through Spring 2027. The position supports cashiering, stocking, pricing and data entry with 2–4 hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Open to work-study students; non-work-study may apply. The role requires counting, accuracy, the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and basic POS operation. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to count, read, follow directions carefully.
• Will be able to lift approximately 40 pounds.
• Must be able to operate Point of Sale System and other cashing devices.
• Must provide great customer service and work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with cashing, receiving, pricing, stocking, inventory-taking, filing & data input.
• Must be able to count, read, follow directions carefully.
• Will be required to lift approximately 40 pounds, and work independently.
• Must be able to operate Point of Sale System and other cashing devices.
• Answering the phone in a courteous manner.
• Must be able to provide great customer service and work as a team.
• Student must be dependable, honest and trustworthy.
