Job summary

Books-A-Million is seeking a friendly Bookseller to provide exceptional customer service and assist shoppers with questions and orders in a fast-paced retail environment. You will greet customers, operate the cash register, and promote memberships and educator programs.

You’ll help stock shelves, process shipments, and maintain a clean, organized sales floor while supporting loss prevention and accurate cash handling. This role emphasizes teamwork and reliable, courteous service.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of required background screenings.
• Knowledgeable about books and store merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, assist with questions and orders, and operate the register.
• Promote store programs and products, including memberships and educator programs.
• Balance cash drawer and handle cash transactions per policy.
• Stock shelves, merchandise the sales floor, and process shipments as needed.
• Maintain store appearance and assist with inventory and housekeeping tasks.
• Support loss prevention and protect company assets during daily operations.
