Job summary

H&R Block, a leader in tax and financial services, seeks an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You will post transactions, reconcile ledgers and prepare financial statements for clients.

You’ll handle payroll, 1099s and W2s while maintaining strong client relationships. National bookkeeping and payroll certifications are preferred or you must be able to obtain them.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications preferred or ability to obtain.
• 1-3 years bookkeeping experience and GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
