H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to handle bookkeeping, payroll, and client service. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare payroll and tax forms as part of delivering our trusted tax and financial services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
• Discretion with confidential information.
• Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to multitask and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
