Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Cassville, MO to manage bookkeeping, payroll, and client interactions with accuracy and discretion. This role supports the brand's mission to provide help and inspire confidence in communities.

You will post transactions, reconcile ledgers, generate financial statements, and assist with payroll and tax documents while maintaining confidentiality and delivering exceptional service to clients.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations.
• Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.
• Experience with Xero accounting software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
