Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Salem, MO. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, generate financial statements, and handle payroll and tax paperwork. You will also communicate with clients and vendors to support retention and growth.

The role requires 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience, proficiency with GAAP, and certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association or the ability to obtain them. Xero experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
