Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and client service. You will post transactions, reconcile ledgers and prepare financial statements while supporting clients and colleagues.

The role requires 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, knowledge of GAAP, and may require national certifications. Xero experience is preferred. The pay range is $17.00–$20.00 per hour, with benefits in a trusted firm.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience required.
• Knowledge of GAAP and bookkeeping procedures.
• National bookkeeping/payroll certifications or ability to obtain them.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
