Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper in Fredericksburg, TX to handle bookkeeping, payroll and client service for our clients. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, generate financial statements and process payroll, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

You’ll communicate with clients, vendors and banking contacts, contribute to client retention and growth opportunities, and support our mission to provide help and inspire confidence in communities nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level experience not required, but candidates must demonstrate solid bookkeeping fundamentals.
• Proven ability to interpret and apply accounting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts to ensure accurate financial records.
• Generate and analyze financial statements for clients.
• Prepare and process payroll for clients.
• Generate 1099s and W-2s and calculate tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, vendors, banks, and other stakeholders.
• Support client retention and identify opportunities for growth.
