H&R Block is seeking a detail-oriented bookkeeping support specialist in Texas. Responsibilities include data entry into the bookkeeping system, endorsing and depositing checks, payroll processing, and ledger reconciliation.

The role requires attention to compliance with wage and hour laws and maintaining organized records. Training and meetings are part of the role, with opportunities to contribute to client reporting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Enter operational data into the client's bookkeeping system and determine the best method to record financial information.
• Manually record information into the bookkeeping system.
• Endorse checks and deposit them to the proper account; prepare charge card transactions daily; report income and bank charges.
• Balance and reconcile ledgers and reconcile cash and bank accounts.
• Develop detailed periodic reports for the business client on income, expenses, gross taxes, and other items as needed.
• Perform payroll services, including payroll checks and monthly/quarterly/annual payroll reports, per wage/hour laws.
• Maintain a manual file system for hard-copy documents.
• Identify issues in current processes and notify management with potential solutions.
• Participate in meetings and training to improve bookkeeping services.
• Attend training related to duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
