Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll, and client service. You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, generate statements, and communicate with clients to support retention and growth while upholding professional standards.

The office operates as an independently owned franchise; candidates with Xero experience and national certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Ability to interpret and apply instructions and regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
