Job summary

Fie Isolde is a Los Angeles-based fine jewelry brand seeking a highly detail-oriented Bookkeeper to work in-office one day per week. You will manage core financial operations including sales, inventory, cost of goods, and deferred revenue, ensuring clean, accurate reporting.

You will partner with the CEO to provide clear visibility on margins and cash flow, maintain accurate records, and drive timely reporting in a fast-moving, inventory-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years bookkeeping experience in inventory-based business.
• Experience with Shopify or e-commerce platforms.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, deferred revenue, and sales tax reporting.
• Highly organized and detail-driven.
• Comfortable working independently in a small, fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain bookkeeping in QuickBooks and keep the chart of accounts up to date.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, Shopify payouts, and payment processors.
• Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
• Track deposits, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition.
• Assist with inventory audits and monitor gross margin accuracy.

About Us

Fie Isolde is a fine jewelry brand designing and producing heirloom-quality pieces in 14k and 18k gold, handmade in Los Angeles. We operate both e-commerce and a private appointment showroom model, with made-to-order production timelines and bespoke projects.

We are looking for a highly detail-oriented, commercially minded Bookkeeper to join us in-office one day per week to manage our core financial operations and ensure clean, accurate reporting.

This is a hands-on role requiring precision, accountability, and a strong understanding of inventory-based businesses.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records across sales, inventory, cost of goods, deferred revenue, and vendor management. You will work closely with the CEO to ensure clear visibility on performance, margins, and cash flow.

This is not a passive data-entry role, we are looking for someone who takes ownership of financial clarity.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all bookkeeping in QuickBooks (or relevant accounting software)
• Maintain accurate chart of accounts
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, Shopify payouts, and payment processors
• Post journal entries where required
• Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Process and manage all invoices
• Track payment schedules and ensure timely payments
• Monitor workshop and supplier invoices for accuracy

Inventory & Cost Tracking

• Track inventory purchases and production costs
• Allocate cost of goods correctly (gold, stones, labor, CAD, packaging, etc.)
• Maintain accurate inventory valuation
• Monitor gross margin accuracy across product categories
• Assist with inventory audits as needed

Deferred Revenue & Revenue Recognition

• Track deposits and deferred revenue (made-to-order & bespoke projects)
• Maintain accurate liability accounts
• Provide monthly summary reports with commentary
• Flag discrepancies, margin shifts, or unusual expense trends
• Support tax reporting preparation in collaboration with CPA

Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years bookkeeping experience (inventory-based business preferred)
• Experience with Shopify or e-commerce platforms (preferred)
• Strong understanding of:
