Responsibilities

• Review and match invoices to purchase orders and project costs.
• Manage subcontractor payables and vendor relationships.
• Ensure accurate coding and job cost allocations.
• Reconcile vendor statements, bank accounts, and credit card transactions.
• Support month-end reconciliations and accounting activities.
• Process weekly payroll for union field employees.
• Administer prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements.
• Reconcile union reports and deductions.
• Support labor cost reporting and project tracking.
• Ensure compliance with labor agreements and regulatory requirements.

A well-established construction and electrical services organization in Sacramento is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support high-volume accounts payable operations and union-focused payroll processing. This is a highly visible role within a collaborative accounting team and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.

The right candidate will bring strong construction accounting experience, expertise in union and prevailing wage payroll, and exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

• Review and match invoices to purchase orders and project costs
• Manage subcontractor payables and vendor relationships
• Ensure accurate coding and job cost allocations
• Reconcile vendor statements, bank accounts, and credit card transactions
• Support month-end reconciliations and accounting activities

Payroll:

• Process weekly payroll for union field employees
• Administer prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements
• Reconcile union reports and deductions
• Support labor cost reporting and project tracking
• Ensure compliance with labor agreements and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

Required:

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable and Payroll experience

Preferred:

• ADP experience
• Electrical, construction, contractor, or trades industry background
