Job summary

LHH is partnering with a well-established, small construction company near Sacramento to handle the full accounting process in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

You will own day-to-day accounting, including payroll, AP/AR, and month-end close, while ensuring compliance with construction-specific reporting. This hands-on role offers high visibility and impact on leadership decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, construction experience highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel.
• Experience with certified payroll and compliance reporting.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to communicate with leadership.
• Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (CPA a plus).

Responsibilities

• Process certified payroll and ensure compliance with construction requirements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes.
• Handle tax filings (payroll tax, sales tax, W-2s, 1099s).

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports for leadership.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination.
