Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking helpers with basic field experience to support boiler and vessel fabrication and assembly on water-tube boiler projects.

Candidate will read and interpret instructions, apply shop math, and assist in aligning components. The role requires working at heights and strict adherence to safety rules; training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret instructions and documentation.
• Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
• Plan work and select proper tools.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
• Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
• Must be able to work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates on foundations.
• Signal crane operator and attach rigging to lift components.
• Align structures or plates to boiler frames, tanks, or vats.
• Hammer, flame-cut, file and grind edges for proper fitting.
• Bolt or arc-weld structures and sections.
• Position drums and headers; bolt or weld supports to frame.
• Line up water tubes and connect ends to drums/headers.
• Bolt or weld casings and fabricated parts to frame.
• Perform minor maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Install manholes, handholds, valves, gauges and water connections.
• Assist in testing vessels by pumping water or gas and checking for leaks.
• Repair boilers or tanks in the field by replacing sections.
• Observe safety rules; perform other duties as required.
