Qualifications

• Must read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work independently.
• Plan work and select proper tools.
• Apply shop mathematics to solve problems.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark reference points for columns or plates on foundations.
• Attach rigging or signal crane operator to lift components.
• Align structures or plates for boiler frame, tanks, or vats.
• Hammer, flame-cut, file and grind edges for fitting.
• Bolt or arc-weld structures and sections together.
• Position drums and headers into supports; bolt or weld supports.
