Job summary

Reworld Waste in Rahway, NJ is seeking a Shift Supervisor to oversee the safe, compliant operation of our facility. You will supervise boilers, turbines, and steam plant systems, conduct rounds, coordinate personnel, and ensure adherence to safety regulations and environmental permits.

The role requires 3+ years of supervisory experience in heavy industry, an active New Jersey Operating Engineer/Boiler Operator license, and hands‑on experience with high‑pressure boilers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years supervisory experience in heavy industrial/manufacturing
• Active New Jersey Operating Engineer/Boiler Operator license
• Hands‑on experience with high‑pressure boilers and generating equipment
• Detailed knowledge of steam‑generating power plant operations and controls
• Power plant or resource recovery experience preferred
• HS diploma required, BS preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe, compliant plant operations and safety protocols
• Supervise boilers, turbines, and steam plant systems
• Coordinate personnel and shift activities; conduct inspections
• Respond to injuries, accidents, and emergencies
• Approve equipment clearances and lockout/tagout procedures
• Lead shift projects and maintenance planning
• Mentor and develop shift personnel for cross‑training
• Maintain site certifications and regulatory compliance
