Job summary

ERG, a research and consulting firm, seeks a Boiler Technician to support operation, maintenance, and repair of boiler systems at NSF Indian Head, MD. This full-time role requires ensuring safe, reliable steam and heating operations in compliance with codes and client requirements.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining boiler systems, performing inspections, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of HVAC experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Experience with federal or government facilities preferred.
• Valid boiler operator or boiler technician certification/license per state/facility requirements.
• Strong knowledge of boiler operations, controls and safety systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Pre-employment physical examination required.
• Lift up to 100 pounds.
• Work may involve exposure to hazardous agents and environments.
• Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance may be required.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain boiler systems and related components.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance for safe, efficient boiler operation.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair boiler and auxiliary systems.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state and local regulations, and site safety requirements.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and facility staff to support plant operations.
