Job summary

EMCOR Government Services seeks a Boiler Plant Operator (DOE - G) for Germantown, MD. The role supports facility operations with a rotating schedule and hands-on management of boiler and utility systems.

Candidates should have at least 3 years in utilities/building maintenance, be proficient with JCI BAS, and hold a Maryland 3rd or 1st class Engineering License. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential. You will record events in logs and coordinate with Operations on urgent issues.

Responsibilities

• Record logs and keep engines and equipment in good condition.
• Perform maintenance on boiler room and utility equipment.
• Monitor boilers, air compressors, chillers and related equipment.

Job Title: Boiler Plant Operator (DOE - G)

Job Summary:EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Boiler Plant OperatorinGermantown, MD.

Schedule: Rotating schedule (Flexible)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance during his/her watch of all equipment in the plant.
• Operates and maintains one of more systems which provide the facility with such services as heat, air conditioning, refrigeration, steam or high temperature water or electricity.
• Observing and interpreting readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system’s operation, adjusting controls to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided
• Recording in logs various aspects of the system’s operation; keeping the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order
• Maintain records of regular checks and maintenance of boilers and associated safety equipment.

• Perform maintenance servicing and repairs of boiler room and utility related equipment and systems
• Monitor steam boilers, air compressors, chillers and associated support equipment.
• Evaluates Building conditions and makes necessary adjustments.
• Other assigned duties

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in utilities and/or building maintenance; steam boiler operation is desirable.
• Proficient in the use and execution of the JCI BAS
• Must have a MD 3rd or 1st class Engineering License
• Strong attention to detail
• Must record all events in log
• Must report all Urgent and Emergencies to the Chief of Operations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills
• Must be willing to undergo a background check that includes a drug test
