Job summary

The University of Vermont is seeking a Skilled Crafts & Trades OC4 N to operate, repair, and maintain the Central Utility Plant and related equipment on a full-time basis at our campus. The role requires extensive experience with heating and cooling plant operations and Building Automation Management Systems, including current certifications or the ability to obtain them within one year.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and four years of experience in heating and/or cooling plant operations and Building Automation Management Systems experience required.
• VT Natural Gas Certification; VT Fuel Oil Burner Installer (Limited) Certification, or ability to obtain within one year.
• Experience with Building Automation Management Systems and effective verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly skilled operation, repair and maintenance of the Central Utility Plant and its equipment.
• Monitor Building Automation Control Systems (Honeywell and Johnson) and respond to system alarms.
• Communicate with University personnel to manage utility resources and safety compliance.
