Job summary

The University of Vermont in Burlington seeks a skilled HVAC professional to install, maintain and repair building HVAC systems and related controls. You will work with refrigeration equipment such as chillers and coolers, and communicate with campus partners to fulfill requests.

Applicants should have a High School diploma, VT certification or the ability to obtain it within six months, 3 years of HVAC experience, Refrigerant Recovery Certification, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; VT certification or ability to obtain within six months.
3 years' experience in HVAC equipment installation, maintenance and repair.
Refrigerant Recovery Certification required.
Valid driver’s license with ability to obtain and maintain driving record.
Proficiency with computers and mobile technology.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain and repair HVAC systems and controls.
Maintain refrigeration equipment including chillers, freezers, coolers, etc.
Coordinate with supervisors and campus partners on tasks.
Access information using computers.
Promote a safe workplace in the shop and in the field.
Operate University vehicle to transport materials, tools and equipment; may drive an aerial lift.
