Job summary

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a relevant license, five years of power plant experience, and strong reading of blueprints with solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• OE2 or B, or S category license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain licenses as required by the State.
• Five years’ experience in power plant operation.
• Knowledge of power plant operations, boilers, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations.
• Proper use of PPE and safety procedures.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Effective communication and customer service history.
• Desktop computer skills and maintenance management systems.
• Minimum 3 years with a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Willingness to meet varying schedules including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boilers, chillers, co-generation, and related equipment.
• Use of threading equipment, wrenches, power and hand tools, snakes, etc.
• Steam, water, compressed air, and gas leak repairs.
• Pump and valve maintenance, repair, and testing.
• Chemical treatment of various fluid systems.
• Keeping records including daily logs.
• Monitoring plant operations via building automation system.
• Coordinate support from other trades and outside contractors when needed.
• Respond to service calls outside the Central Power Plant and coordinate assistance.
