Job summary

General Motors’ Arlington site seeks a Body Shop Launch Lead to drive readiness and execution for assigned plant areas, ensuring safe, high-quality builds within takt time and program timing.

The role interfaces with Plant Launch Team, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, quality, supply chain, and maintenance, requiring strong leadership and lean principles. Relocation benefits may be available; travel up to 25% domestically/internationally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in automotive/program launch or high-volume manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, business, or equivalent.
• Ability to rotate through 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.
• Willingness to travel ~25% domestically and/or internationally.
• OT/weekend/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead flawless execution of Body Shop program deliverables.
• Provide Level 1–2 outlines for Body Shop Master Dot activities with countermeasures.
• Communicate status to Plant Launch Ops Manager and Body Shop Area Director.
• Coordinate with Material Launch Manager on Body Shop material plan.
• Coordinate quality plans with Quality Systems.
• Meet manpower targets and resolve issues to ensure a successful launch.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration between Production and Body Manufacturing Eng.
• Plan layout, process, and equipment deployment strategically.
• Train Body Shop organization and share lessons learned.
