Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Body Shop Launch Lead to drive launch readiness and execution for an assigned plant area. You will connect the Plant Launch Team with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations, ensuring safe, on-time production at required quality and takt time.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive launch or high-volume manufacturing, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and willingness to rotate through all shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in automotive/program launch or high-volume manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, business, or related field.
• Ability and willingness to work / rotate through all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd).
• Ability to travel 25% of the time or higher based on business needs domestically and/or internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead flawless execution of program deliverables within Body Shop.
• Communicate Body Shop status to Plant Launch Operations Manager and Area Director.
• Coordinate material plan validation with Material Launch Manager.
• Coordinate quality plans with Quality Systems.
• Achieve manpower targets and resolve issues for successful launches.
• Lead cross-functional coordination between Production and Body Manufacturing Engineering.
• Plan layout, process, and equipment deployment strategically.
• Train Body Shop organization and share Lessons Learned.
