Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking a Body Shop Launch Lead in Arlington, TX to drive launch readiness and execution across a plant area. You will connect Plant Launch Team with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations to ensure safe, high-quality production within takt time.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive or high-volume manufacturing launches, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and the ability to work all three shifts.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in automotive/program launch or high-volume manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability and willingness to work/rotate through all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd).
• Ability to travel 25% of the time or higher domestically and/or internationally.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed.
• Strong leadership and technical skills to influence across levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead flawless execution of program deliverables within Body Shop.
• Provide Level 1 & 2 outline for Body Shop Master Dot activities with countermeasures.
• Communicate Body Shop status to Plant Launch Operations Manager and Body Shop Area Director.
• Coordinate material plan with Material Launch Manager and ensure readiness for launch.
• Coordinate quality plans with Quality Systems and ensure manpower targets are met.
• Identify and resolve issues to ensure successful launch; drive issues to closure.
