Job summary

Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation in Boise, ID, seeks a Boating Education Training Coordinator to lead statewide boat safety education, design courses, and train instructors, traveling across the Southwest Region. Based at the Headquarters in Boise, you will prepare materials, teach classes, manage the PWC livery program, support RBS grants, and help counties with boater safety programs.

The role reports to the Boating Program Supervisor and requires a valid driver’s license,

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience reviewing and revising instructional course content and materials for at least one course involving classroom or field training.
  • Experience teaching classes in a structured learning situation (at least six months cumulative teaching).
  • Experience interpreting and communicating technical materials to the public (about one year).
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and compiling information with facts and statistics (about one year).

Responsibilities

  • Train and educate on boating safety programs and curricula.
  • Develop curricula and certify instructors.
  • Coordinate with NASBLA and public relations for outreach and media.
  • Travel within the Southwest Region to provide training sessions.
  • Support RBS grants and data entry into relevant databases.
  • Assist counties with boater safety classes and community outreach.
