Job summary

Maryland Department of Labor in Baltimore is seeking a seasoned professional to lead membership engagement and governance operations for the Governor’s Workforce Development Board. Responsibilities include recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing engagement while ensuring compliance with federal and State requirements.

This hybrid role requires coordinating board and committee meetings, maintaining records, and communicating GWDB initiatives to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional experience coordinating meetings, stakeholder engagement, board or committee operations, governance, project management, communications, event planning, and/or related administrative functions.
• Two years of experience working within government, workforce development, economic development, higher education, or a nonprofit organization.
• Substitutions for education/experience as allowed by policy may apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead board member appointments and compliance, coordinating with the Governor’s Appointments Office.
• Manage end-to-end appointments process, onboarding new members, and offboarding departing members.
• Coordinate logistics for quarterly board and committee meetings, in-person or hybrid.
• Maintain records, attendance, minutes, and follow-up communications.
• Oversee Boardable engagement, social media, and external communications for GWDB initiatives.
• Develop onboarding materials and sessions for new board members.
