Job summary

Wilson County Schools in Lebanon, Tennessee is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to lead behavioral supports within the special education program. This is a full-time, 220-day position reporting to the Director of Special Education, with retirement and health benefits, and a starting salary no less than $55,025.

The role involves conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, supervising RBTs, and collaborating with families and school staff to improve student outcomes

Qualifications

  • Valid BCBA license required.
  • Familiarity with IDEA and Section 504 guidelines.
  • Minimum of three years of related experience; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess behavioral and social-emotional difficulties using appropriate testing.
  • Complete Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
  • Supervise and train Registered Behavior Technicians and maintain BACB documentation.
  • Assist in placement decisions for students with behavioral needs.
  • Maintain student case records related to behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and parents; attend IEP meetings.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

JOB GOAL

This position was established for the purpose(s) of effective positive behavioral change in students; providing supportive interventions to families and/or students; and complying with Federal, State, Local, and District policies, regulations, and/or procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) license;
  • Familiarity with guidelines of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of job-related experience within the specialized field; and
  • Administrative/supervisory experience (preferred).

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of state law and the Board’s policy on evaluation of the Director of Schools.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Upon referral by the school or IEP team, assesses behavioral and/or social/emotional difficulties of referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices;
  • Completes Functional Behavior Assessments, Functional Analyses (as necessary), and writes Behavior Intervention Plans for students whose behavior impedes learning;
  • Supervises, assesses and/or trains Registered Behavior Technicians and maintains all necessary documents as required by the BACB;
  • Assists in making placement recommendations for exceptional education students with social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties;
  • Maintains case records on students referred for behavioral interventions;
  • Confers with administrators, teachers, and parents when needed;
  • Attends IEP meetings for students who receive direct or consult behavior supports or other students with behavioral needs;
  • Assists in the delivery of a range of school services, including, but not limited to, individual and group direct sessions, parent counseling and support, and planning and implementing appropriate intervention techniques;
  • Prepares and submits required reports on special needs students and special education programs;
  • Attends professional meetings, as appropriate;
  • Assists with in-service training of school personnel and provides specific training in techniques for working with students who have behavioral difficulties;
  • Conducts appropriate research; and
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time, 220-day position with retirement and insurance benefits. Salary will be determined by education, work experience, and placement on Grade 11 of the Salaried Classified Salary Schedule (modified for 220-day schedule). Starting annual salary will be no less than $55,025.
