Job Description

Position Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Department: District Level

Reports To: Assistant Superintendent/Director of Student Services

Contract: 2025-2026 School year - 244 days

Contract Date: Until Filled

Summary: The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides leadership, expertise, and support in designing and implementing evidence-based behavioral and instructional programs for students with diverse needs. The BCBA conducts functional behavior assessments (FBAs), develops and monitors behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and collaborates with administrators, teachers, related service providers, and families to promote positive student outcomes. This role includes providing coaching, training, and ongoing technical assistance to staff, as well as ensuring compliance with federal, state, and district policies related to student behavior and specialized services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
  • Develop and provide professional development on evidence-based behavioral practices at JNPSD.
  • Train and coach administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals to build local capacity to work effectively with students with problem behaviors; this includes hands‑on work with students.
  • Assist with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for individual students through the CIRCUIT referral process.
  • Provide modeling and coaching around the implementation of evidence-based behavioral practices.
  • Establish and maintain effective consultative working relationships with colleagues, district administrators, district staff, and other consultant groups.
  • Adhere to predetermined timelines, multitask between projects, and respond to work requests based on priority and complexity.
  • Access current technology related to communication, data collection and analysis, and reporting.
  • Understand state and federal regulations related to behavioral requirements and students with disabilities.
  • Familiarize self with most recent research/practice in applied behavior analysis, evidence-based practices, and high‑leverage practices.
  • Maintain accurate records and files, and prepare documents and reports.
  • Attend professional development to receive CEUs related to BCBA in order to maintain certification.
  • Supervise and train RBTs in their work with students and staff.
  • Oversee documentation collection for FBAs, BIPs and Medicaid reimbursements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree (or above) in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, School Psychology, Speech Language Pathology, or related field.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certified through the Behavior Analysis Certification Board.
  • Experience in a K‑12 school environment, training and coaching educators using adult learning principles, preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience completing Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and developing behavior intervention plans (BIP).
  • Significant experience working with students with problem behaviors and autism, preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA) and other special education laws, regulations, and procedures.
