Job Description
Position Overview

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will play a vital role in supporting students' behavioral, social, and emotional growth across all schools, grades, and programs. The BCBA will also be responsible for supervising a caseload of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and collaborating closely with educators, administrators, and related service providers to build capacity across the district. This role emphasizes proactive, educationally-driven support to foster safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students.

Essential Responsibilities
Behavioral Support and Consultation
  • Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, specialty programs, special educators, school psychologists, counselors, and other staff to develop, implement, and monitor behavior strategies across settings.
  • Provide modeling, coaching, and side‑by‑side support to school staff implementing behavioral interventions.
  • Monitor and analyze behavioral data to evaluate intervention effectiveness and make data‑driven recommendations.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) aligned with students' IEPs and 504 plans as appropriate.
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Supervision
  • Provide supervision, oversight, and professional development for district‑employed RBTs.
  • Ensure RBT services are delivered with fidelity and in alignment with ethical guidelines and best practices.
  • Support RBTs in skill development, data collection, and intervention implementation.
MTSS Leadership and Tier 1 Support
  • Serve as the lead for integrating and expanding positive behavioral practices within the MTSS framework.
  • Support the development, refinement, and implementation of Tier 1 behavioral structures and systems at the classroom and building levels.
  • Design and deliver professional development and training opportunities for staff related to behavioral strategies, classroom management, and proactive discipline practices.
  • Consult with district and building leadership teams to support school‑wide behavioral initiatives, SEL programs, and trauma‑informed practices.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Participate in student support team meetings, IEP/504 meetings, and other collaborative problem‑solving teams as needed.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding behavioral interventions and supports as appropriate.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting consistent with district, state, and professional standards.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing.
    • Experience conducting FBAs, developing BIPs, and providing behavioral consultation in school settings.
    • Strong knowledge of MTSS frameworks, Tier 1 behavioral practices, and trauma‑informed approaches.
  • Preferred:
    • Previous experience supervising RBTs or other behavioral support staff.
    • Experience providing professional development and coaching to educators.
    • Philosophy of inclusion.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and proactive approaches to student support.
Work Year and Compensation
