Job summary

Hoffman Auto Group in Waterbury, CT is seeking an automotive technician to repair vehicles safely and efficiently with customer satisfaction as the top priority. The role requires maintaining ASE and manufacturer certifications, staying current with service bulletins, and complying with safety/OSHA standards.

You will document repairs, road test as needed, meet flat-rate metrics, and contribute as a mentor to technicians and apprentices.

Qualifications

• Maintain ASE/manufacturer certs and stay current with data, bulletins, safety/OSHA regs.
• Read and interpret customer complaints; diagnose and advise findings.
• Complete authorized repairs per policy; return warranty parts as needed.
• Document all repairs using internet tools and Repair Order docs.
• Meet flat-rate hour production-based metrics as prescribed by management.
• Act as leader, mentor, and trainer to technicians and apprentices.

Core Accountabilities

• Maintain ASE and/or manufacturer-required certifications; stay up to date with all manufacturer technical data as well as service bulletins. Ensure compliance with all safety and OSHA regulations that pertain to your job.
• Read and understand customer complaints; diagnose and advise findings; complete all authorized repairs in accordance with manufacturer and company policy; return warranty parts to parts dept and road test vehicles as needed to verify completion of repairs.
• Properly document all repairs using both internet-based tools and physical Repair Order documentation as instructed per department requirements.
• Meet all flat-rate hour production-based metrics as prescribed by Management.
• Act as a leader, mentor, and trainer to employees in the in Technician, Lube Technician, and Apprentice Technician roles.

Qualifications: Competencies and Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Valid Driver’s license
• 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service orientated environment preferred
• Can adapt and embrace change with an internal and external customer centric mindset
• Act as an advocate for teammates and have a strong commitment to technology advancement
• Possesses effective communication skills: oral, written, listening.
• Works well with customers, promotes a positive image of the company, strives to solve issues raised by customers.
