Job summary

Mantis Innovation is seeking a BMS Estimator to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals for Building Management and Automation projects, including HVAC controls and energy management. You will combine controls expertise with construction know-how to craft competitive proposals for diverse facilities.

The role spans office, remote, and site environments with travel, focusing on deliverables such as labor estimates, material takeoffs, and pricing summaries.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in BMS/BAS, controls, or related environments.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and specs.
• Strong HVAC controls, DDC, and commissioning knowledge.
• Experience developing scope from construction docs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and bid packages to define project scope.
• Issue RFIs to clarify the SOW during bidding.
• Develop counts, estimates, and pricing summaries.
• Prepare customer-facing proposals and bid documents.
• Evaluate constructability, risks, and execution strategy.
• Solicit vendor quotations and support change order pricing.
• Coordinate project handoff and ongoing project support.
• Evaluate integration requirements for BAS, BMS, EPMS, SCADA, DCIM.
