Job summary

Lilly is building a next-generation biotech drug substance manufacturing facility in Richmond, VA. The Principal Automation Engineer – Building Management Systems will support design and delivery of BMS platforms, collaborating with engineering teams, A&E firms, and system integrators to ensure safe, quality, and productive operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
3+ years in Building Management or Building Automation Systems.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver site Building Management Systems and related integrations.
Collaborate with A&E firms, system integrators, and IT to develop software/hardware design, testing, and commissioning.
Provide technical oversight for BMS design reviews and site procedures.
Develop BMS capabilities within the Richmond site automation team.
Support AF&IDs, P&IDs, instrument specs, and testing strategies for BMS platforms.
Plan staffing, SOWs, supplier management, and delivery strategies for automation systems.
